It’s understandable that cost is a tension point for business owners. After seeing the cost of professional branding, you may realize that you’re not ready to invest in branding, or that your business is not quite ready for a brand yet.

But when you are ready – be sure to look for a designer that you can trust and can tell has done great work for past clients, not just a designer who has low prices. A designer who knows they’re capable of great work will not charge you low prices.

IF YOU'VE EVER...

wanted to work with a designer, but was surprised at the (average) price tag of $5,000 for branding and $10,000 for a website… I get it. That’s a lot of money for some businesses and can come as a shock, for sure. It’s hard to understand right off the bat where that price came from, how the designer came up with it, and if it’s even worth making the investment.

01. Good Branding Takes Time

Branding takes a lot of time – from the moment the client signs the contract to the final invoice, the designer’s life is consumed by your branding project. From a client’s perspective, it’s easy to believe a good designer can just whip up your branding in a matter of hours, but a thoughtful and expert designer will take the time to build your extensive branding elements piece by piece. It’s tedious and thorough work to get to the final design, so keep that in mind when you see the pricing!

02. Designers Have Experience

Designers often price their packages based on their experience in the industry and their skill level. They usually are self-aware and know what kind of talent they’re bringing to the table.

03. Branding Has Value

Branding is the engine that runs a business and determines its success. It can directly impact your sales and audience reach, which then impacts your growth as a business. Essentially, great branding leads to more money in your pocket as well as more audience reach. Some designers take that into consideration when they determine their pricing. What’s being created for your long-term use is valuable and should be treated as an investment for your business!

04. Designers Have Expenses

While we all pay bills and for necessities, designers also pay for things such as: Design Software, Quarterly Tax Payments, Training for New Design Programs to stay up to date, etc. Running a business isn’t cheap, as you know!

WHEN YOU HIRE A DESIGNER...

you aren’t paying for X amount of hours of work, you’re paying for the long-term result of having a living, breathing brand that will speak for your business.
